Model Release

This document is a contract which I have requested my model to sign. It means that I have full control over the release of the pictures and that I don't have to be influenced by them for choice of photo. This contract is really effective for my work as without it I wouldn't be able to have free reign on the photo's I've taken as it's common for the model to have a preference for what picture should be used. This piece of material makes their opinion irrelevant and gives me final say.

Double Page Spreads

I have chosen to design three double page spreads. The first is a introductory page which willl have a full bleed image of my artist on the left hand side. Whilst on the right there will be a small introductory paragraph. My title is 'Mia on Music' as my artists name is 'Mia Shaw' and the aliterative title is catchy and will hopefully be memorable for the audience. The topic of the article is entertainment as well as informative.

My second page has a pull quote on the left hand side and a picture below it. The main article then starts on the right and will flow in to a interview. The title of this page is 'Shaw'ly Not. This is a play on words of my artists name again to help the audience remember her and to give a quirky side to the article.

My last page as just a basic layout as this will hold the bulk of the article. There are spaces for pictures, but most of the information will be on this page. That is why it doesn't have a title as it's just a follow on.

Contents Page Design

This is my Contents Page design. I have used a similar layout to NME as it seemed suitable. However now that I have started to make my contents page in adobe photoshop I have made some changes as it seemed to suit better.

Front Cover Draft

This is my front cover draft for my magazine. This will be a guide for when I come to making my magazine. I have included sell lines and a artist time line. I haven't annotated the draft with a colour scheme as I'm not completely sure which house style I want to go for yet.

Sell Line Ideas

Sell line Ideas for my Magazine. These are informative and entertaining plugs that'll hopefully attract my target audience. They are advertising about the bands that my audience will like and recognise. By using alliteration, assonance and various other language techniques I can help my sell lines stick in my readers mind as well as giving them a certain rhythm when being read which will effectively be more memorable.

Name Ideas

Name Ideas

These are the name ideas I have come up with for my magazine. They all have connoations of music or conform to the genre to which I intend my magazine to be. Some of the names I have chosen suit my genre of music more as they relate better, for example; 'Amplified' implies that the music is loud. I think this name suits my magazine as the style of Indie can be loud and outrageous. I also like the name 'Indiestructable' as it's taking a  powerful adjective and incorporting a pun into its title.
